BLACK TRACKIN' w/ MARVA WHITNEY

MARVA WHITNEY

Marva Whitney, an amazing soul singer. In my opinion has a mixture of Aretha, Sharon Jones, and some Shirley Bassey. I thought I would share this with all of you finally! This recording is from the Apollo (same place where James Brown left goosebumps all over). This recording contains the deepest, eccentric, and funkiest soul! The show was produced and brought to you by our very own, James Brown. In my opinion, my favorite track is Foolish Fool because Sublime covered this song as well. Good track! Enjoy

Tracklisting:
1) Things Got To Get Better(Part 1)
2) Respect
3) Things Got To Get Better(Part 2)
4) A Talk With James Brown
5) Foolish Fool
6) You Got To Have A Job(Part 1)
7) It's My Thing
8) You Got To Have A Job(Part 2)
9) I Made A Mistake Part 1
10) I Made A Mistake Part 2

Now here is LP from 1969, It's My Thing w/ five extra tracks (13-18)!

Marva Whitney is the female version of James Brown. The JB's are backing up Marva Whitney on this album. After listening to this, shows you the stone cold soul that James Brown influenced to all artists he worked with. My favorite track on this, is the beautiful duet w/ James Brown for Sunny. Breath-taking soul.
